Demographic consequences of Asian disasters

ADSRI ARC Discovery Grant, Demographic Consequences of Asian Disasters: Family Dynamics, Social Capital and Migration Patterns, has been put forward by ARC for inclusion in the Prime Minister's White Paper on Australia in the Asian Century.

A workshop related to this project, Transformation and Resilience of Populations during Disasters in Cross-Cultural Settings: Theoretical, Empirical and Policy Issues, was held on Friday 13 April at University House.

Professor Mark Pelling, Kings College London, who is the recipient of an International Collaboration Award under this grant, visited ADSRI from 5 April to 4 May to attend the workshop and work with Helen James and her colleagues on the grant.
